Personal, Social, Health Education

Our PSHE leader is Mrs Hans.

Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education is a subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future. It helps children to stay healthy and safe, while preparing them to make the most of life and work.

Our School follow a scheme created by the PSHE Association to deliver good quality teaching across the year groups. Each school year is divided into 3 and cover a ‘Core Theme’ each term.

CORE THEME 1: HEALTH AND WELLBEING

 CORE THEME 2: RELATIONSHIPS

CORE THEME 3: LIVING IN THE WIDER WORLD

Over each term, our lessons are structured around a ‘Big Question’. These begin in Key Stage 1 as ‘What?’ and ‘Who?’ questions and build throughout Key Stage 2 into ‘Why?’ and ‘How?’ questions.  Teaching builds according to the age and needs of the pupils throughout the primary phase with learning objectives given to respond to each key question.

Anti Bullying Week 2023

During anti bullying week we were learning about being ‘united against bullying’ The children could talk about what bullying means with confidence and could tell us what they would do if they were worried. In classes children have been thinking the different forms that bullying can take with a particular focus on indirect bullying.
